This weekend I had booked a train to Belleville where I was to be met by old friends.  I was to spend a few days with them in  Brighton - just as I had done last summer and I was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, I hadn't recovered fully from my Denver trip. My IBS kicked me in the stomach.  I struggled with it but it was not about to give up.

Indecision kept me going to and fro about whether I should chance the trip.  My train was leaving 8:30 Friday morning - would I be well enough by then?  Thursday night, decision regretfully made, I contacted my friends explaining IBS had won - I was staying home.  This turned out to be a wise move as i spent an uncomfortable weekend.

The long range weather forecast says it's going to be a lovely week ahead for the longest consecutive number good days of the summer.  Poolside weather.   Reading, exercise, eating a healthy diet and resting this week will hopefully see the return of my usual exuberant self, whom I have missed.

So today, I'm going to say hasta luego - I'll see you next Sunday when I feel great again!
