I'm in countdown mode now until the family get together November 2 in Markham.   Two days later, Donna and D'Arcy will drive me to Pearson Airport to catch my flights to Manzanillo.

I'm very excited that most of the family will join me to bury Don's ashes in Unionville, followed by a celebration for my 90th birthday at daughter Donna's home in Markham.  Unfortunately a few family members won't be there. Their absences are understandable, but they will be missed.

Summer's dying days have been mostly sunny and warm.  Is this our Indian Summer?   Or is Indigenous Summer the correct term today?  The latter doesn't have the same ring to it, so I'll stick to the former.

Fall officially started this week.  Mother Nature, as expected, brought us shorter days and cooler air, even tho the sun still feels very warm when you're in it.

I had one more swim yesterday and, hopefully, another today before hanging up my suit(s) for a month.  Having a heated pool is pure luxury at this time of year, then jumping into the hot tub afterward is even better.

I've accumulated 'stuff' over the past five months that must now be sorted.  My Mexico-bound summer things can be rolled up and packed into my luggage, ready for the trip.  Decisions must be made about what I can leave in storage at my daughter Dianne's house in Creemore until my return to Collingwood next spring, and what can be disposed of.  Fortunately the storage things can be brought with me from Ottawa to Markham and transferred to Dianne's vehicle making that part of my transition seamless.

This has been a quiet week - not much to write about and October will undoubtedly be much the same. Therefore, unless there is something interesting enough to tell you about, I've decided to sign off on the blog until November 10th,  when you will hear from me from Manzanillo, Mexico.

Until then, I wish all of you to stay safe, healthy and happy and I will do my best to do the same.

Hasta luego mis amigos!
